Chilean Economist Manfred Max-Neef
I recently saw an episode of "Democracy Now" where this economist was interviewed. And it was a very interesting, and refreshing point of you that this man has. If you have the time, about 30 minutes, it is well worth your time. Watch this video here.

Martin Luther King
Martin Luther King in my estimation was one of the greatest men that America ever produced. To celebrate his legacy and life I listened to three of his speeches. They ring true today as they did back then. You may have heard bits and pieces or you may have heard them in their entirety. But, like a good book they are worth listening to them again. If you can set aside some time to just listen and keep an open mind.

"I've Been to the Mountaintop" delivered 3 April 1968 the night before he was assassinated. He was in Memphis, Tennessee in support of the Sanitation workers on strike. Hear or read it here.

Warmer Times
The last few days have been warmer 2 to 4 degrees celsius. And we even had a little rain. Much of the snow has melted. But, what is left is a lot of ice.
Ralle and I slip and slide along our country road. The main asphalt roads are fine. Life is good.

Winter Walk by the Sea
A few days ago Lars, Imma, Ralle, and I went for a walk by the sea. It was a dessert like winter moment.
It was clear, quiet, and serene. It was a good time.

We all had a great time. I kept looking for Lawrence of Arabia to come riding on his camel from out in the distance.

Charles Lindbergh's Flight
A friend of mine in Mariposa sent this very interesting film footage to me in an email. Again, it takes some time to watch. But, then again good things take some time. Enjoy.
Win Perkins, a real estate appraiser who specializes in airport properties, has posted on his Web site a video he created of Charles Lindbergh's famous and risky take off in the Spirit of St. Louis . According to Perkins, this is unlike any other presentation of the take off footage. Perkins painstakingly assembled news footage from five different camera men who filmed Lindbergh's take off from Roosevelt Field, Long Island. He then mixed it with enhanced audio from the same newsreel sources.
